The Backroads Bluegrass Band is made up of hard working blue collar musicians. They play and sing traditional bluegrass, including gospel or an occasional country classic as well as hot pickin' instrumentals. The band loves to perform a variety of bluegrass music to entertain any audience.
 

   Larry Miller, Osage, Arkansas. Larry plays fiddle for The Backroads Bluegrass Band. He has been playing the fiddle and entertaining audiences for over 40 years. Larry has played with several bands in the past including bands that have performed at Shepherd of the Hills and Silver Dollar City in Branson, Missouri. He also plays the mandolin, guitar and banjo. He has been with Backroads since its beginning.

  Tim Kendrick, Blue Eye, Missouri. Tim plays mandolin and guitar and sings both lead and harmony vocals for The Backroads Bluegrass Band. He has been playing since a young age. The Missouri Boatride Bluegrass Band had Tim fill in on several occasions when their regular mandolin player Dean Webb (The Dillards/Darlings) was not available. As a teenager, Tim attended a Bill Monroe show and was given the opportunity by Mr. Monroe himself to play his mandolin during a break.  Tim plays several other instruments and has been with Backroads since its beginning.

   Billy Stewart A.K.A Billie Nelson, Green Forest, Arkansas. Billy plays banjo and sings lead and harmony vocals for The Backroads Bluegrass Band. Everywhere the band performs, the audience loves his impersonation of Willie Nelson’s “On the Road Again." Billy started playing the banjo at the age of twelve. He has played with various musical groups through out the years. Billy has been with Backroads since its beginning.

    Len Harden, Derby, Kansas. Len plays the guitar and sings lead and harmony vocals for The Backroads Bluegrass Band.  He started playing guitar and singing with family at the age of six. He and his daughter Lisa have been with the band since the fall of 2008. His musical influences vary from gospel to classic rock but his love has always been bluegrass and classic country music.

    Lisa Harden, Derby, Kansas. Lisa has been singing since a child. At the age of eight, she had her first stage performance with her dad and a full band. She adds both lead and harmony vocals to The Backroads Bluegrass Band. Her musical influences are Allison Krause and Rhonda Vincent. She also has a good sense of humor - she has to since she is the only girl in the group...

   Larry Lewman, Ark City, Kansas. Larry is the bass player for The Backroads Bluegrass Band.  He joined the band in July 2009. He played guitar, mandolin and cello before picking up the bass in the early ‘90s.  Larry has previously played with three other local bands but this is the first true bluegrass band he has joined.
